Last Thursday, March 13, the Governor of the State of Piaui, Mr. Wellington Dias, awarded in Campo Maior (State of Piaui) the State Merit Order - Renaissance of Piaui to 5 members of the Association of the Route of Emotions' Tourism Companies - AETRE. This honor is awarded to those personalities who with their work contribute to the economic and social development of the State of Piaui.

Mr. Ugo Covin, president of AETRE and CEO of the Boa Vista Resort of Camocim, State of Ceara; Mr. Marcos Fonteles, owner of Eco Adventure Tur, of Parnaíba - State of Piaui; Mr. Paulo Savio Tude Rodrigues, owner of the Hotel Pousada dos Ventos, of Parnaíba - State of Piaui; Mrs. Maria dos Santos Brito, owner of the Hotel Cívico, Parnaíba - State of Piaui; and Mrs. Flor de Liz Romeiro, director of the INC-Camocim travel agency, Camocim - State of Ceara, received the medal of honor and the diploma of the Order.

The ceremony counted with the presence of the Governor of the State of Pernambuco, Mr. Joao Lyra Neto, Senator Inacio Arruda of the State of Ceara, authorities of the Brazilian Army and the Police, the Mayor of Campo Maior, Mr. Joao Felix, and the local population.

In this very same date they also celebrated the 185th anniversary of the Battle of Jenipapo, of 1823, in which nationalist peasants confronted by the margins of the Jenipapo River, with nothing more than sickles, sticks and stones, a Portuguese battalion lead by Major Joao Jose da Cunha Fidie. This historical date represents the people's resistance to the Portuguese crown, being a milestone for the independence of the Brazilian north and for the National Unity.
