The governor of the State of Piaui, Mr. Wellington Dias, and the President of BR Distribuidora, Mrs. Maria das Graças Foster, will inaugurate on the 14th of this month a new Fuel Base at the Parnaiba Airport.

The idea is to present the new fuel base on the date of the City’s anniversary.




The loading unit – a truck with a capacity of about six thousand cubic meters of fuel – was announced in a conference held on Thursday 9 at the company’s headquarters in Rio de Janeiro.

“We will celebrate one more year for the city with this present to the population, and the Litoranea air company will make the first refueling operation”, celebrated the governor.

In this occasion, they also announced the delivery of the BR Distribuidora definitive unit in the Parnaiba Airport. It will be inaugurated on October 31.

In a conference held at the BR Distribuidora headquarters, Wellington Dias also asked for the support of Mrs. Foster for the bioenergy program developed in the State of Piaui.

The governor asked for the help of the company in the campaign for the establishment of a single price for the mamona crops, which is the base for the production of biofuel.

The governor mentioned the social benefits that an incentive for the growing of this crop would bring to many families in the State.

“We must support the policy of alternative sources of energy, or products like the mamona will not be commercially interesting and the investments will go to the sugar cane and soy.

We need to give them a chance and include the poorer families, for them to be able to diversify their crops into this productive process”, the governor stated.
